A
Message from Madison Miner, founder of Soldier Tributes
SoldierTributes.com started because I felt there should be an easy way to let
family and friends celebrate each other's lives while sharing
stories and preserving memories.
I was working as a Software Engineer when a close friend of my employer passed
away. As a Japanese native, many of his close friends were unable to attend his
service in the United States. My employer wanted all of his family and friends
to have an opportunity to contribute and share memories. After looking
around the Internet for such a service, he was disappointed to find costs of
such services to be exorbitant and benefits insufficient. He asked if I would
make a website where the memory of his friend could live on, a website where
anybody in the world could view the tribute, add testimonials, and pictures.
After the site was posted, I was amazed
with how many people benefited from it. Friends in Japan were able to reconnect
with friends in the U.S. Stories and pictures transcended country boarders,
spanned oceans and thousands of miles. Watching the success of the site and
knowing the pain of losing someone first hand, I wanted to create a site
entirely devoted to tributes. Thus the inception of Soldier Tributes.
I sincerely hope that SoldierTributes.com can help people celebrate
the lives of loved ones, as well as preserve those legacies for years to come.
